UX Design Process
Planning: I would would set up an initial kick-off meeting to understand their goals and they would provide outlined documentation of their goals to review. I would strategize with stakeholders, Project Management, the Business, and Development for the project timeline and LOE. This may later include some workshopping and working together in Figma to map a plan.
Research: Then I would start on research based on user interviews, surveys, market research, business data, and competitive analysis. I would resource articles and competitors current states to see what’s available.
Current State Analysis: I would then analyze the data in our current state and competitors to identify patterns, pain points, and opportunities. This helps in defining the problem statement and setting design goals.
Design: Next I would create wireframes, information architecture, prototypes, and visual designs based on the insights gained from research and analysis. I would then find the best solutions to address the problem.
Prototyping: Depending on the project I would create lo-fi wireframes to hi-prototypes. This would be for visualizing the design before development.
Testing: We would then test some designs for components or layouts for the user. I would gather feedback from users by observing how they interact with the prototype. This feedback helps in identifying usability issues and making necessary iterations.
Iterate: Based on the feedback from testing, this would involve making changes to the layout, navigation, or functionality to improve the user experience.
Implementation: Once the design has been finalized, it is handed over to the development team for implementation. This would include RC documentation and hand-off.
Evaluation: After projects are launched the UX design process would continue. It's important to monitor and evaluate the product's performance through user feedback, analytics, and usability testing. This helps in identifying areas for improvement and iterating on the design to enhance the user experience further.
Below are a few examples of the process. These aren't exhaustive, as each project varies in timelines, stakeholder demands, development stages, and other factors. I'll create a customized plan for each project to meet its specific goals.*
